Karen Jarvie clinic

This is a Cowboy Dressage clinic which is a combination of traditional western and classical horsemanship.  It is defined as training and developing the Western rider and horse to improve themselves as individuals and as partners through the use and discipline of dressage.

 

Dates:     October 28 & 29, 2017

Course outline:     Depending on the number of participants the clinic may be spit into two groups.  Each group rides for 1.5 hours in both the morning and afternoon, and are also expected to audit the alternate group.  The full clinic participation, including auditing the alternate group, is 6 hours each day not including a 1 hour lunch break.

Location:     The clinic is being held at the Lethbridge Therapeutic Riding Association arena.  This arena is located on Highway #512 (jail road) west of Lethbridge.  See interactive map.

Camping:     Dry camping (no hookups) is available at the arena Friday and Saturday evening during the clinic.

Horse boarding:     If you wish to  have your horse kept at the facility during the clinic a box stall must be rented (high-lines, electric fencing, or portable panels are not permitted).  Box stalls are available for $30 per day.  Please contact Lethbridge Therapeutic Riding Association directly for more information and to arrange a stall.

Equipment:     It is preferred that the horse be ridden in a snaffle bit (if possible) for this clinic.  The same horse must be used for both days.

Participants:     A maximum of 12 participants can be accommodated.  Members in good standing will be subsidized by SATRA for two thirds of the cost – this requires being a member for the current year plus the two immediately proceeding years.  Club members not meeting this requirement are welcome but must pay the full price.

Any unused spots for the clinic will be made available to non-members after August 15th, 2017.

Participant Cost:     The clinic fee is $275 per participant.  With the club subsidy for qualified members the participant fee is be $95.

Payment for this clinic is non-refundable, and is due by September 15th, 2017.  A cheque made out to SATRA, email transfer, or cash, can be provided to Debbie Roslinsky (please don’t mail cash).

Meals:     Meals and beverages are not provided.
