Trail rides
- Riders wishing to participate are to contact the host before 8:00 pm the day before the ride.
- Only confirmed riders will be advised of changes or cancelled rides.
- For insurance purposes, each rider must be an active SATRA member for the current year and additionally must have a current Alberta Equestrian Federation membership.
- If you are not a member and would like to come on a ride, you are allowed to participate on a once-in-a-lifetime basis. This is to see if you would like what we do. After that you would be required to become a member.
- All riders ride at their own risk. We encourage helmet use.

- Interested in hosting a trail ride? If you know a great place to ride consider being a trail ride host. Check out the Guidelines for trail ride host and trail boss for more information.
Arena rides
- Riders don’t need to contact the host prior to coming. However, contact information is provided to inquire about any changes or cancellations (due to weather, etc.).
- Rides will be cancelled if weather with wind chill is -20 according to the current weather forecast.
- For insurance purposes, each rider must be an active SATRA member for the current year and additionally must have a current Alberta Equestrian Federation membership.
- Depending on the length of the ride we may start with some groundwork and include obstacles or games during the ride. Most arenas have equipment that we can use (pylons, barrels, etc.) but you are also welcome to bring anything else you would like to use.
- Lunch is not provided so bring your own. Depending on the arena we may bring coffee and tea.
- All riders ride at their own risk. We encourage helmet use.
Clinics
A few times each season we offer clinics to help our members build new skills under the guidance of professional clinicians.
- Details including the registration window for clinics are posted once available.
- Clinics have limited spaces. Secure your spot by completing the registration form and paying the required deposit. Clinic registration is strictly first come first serve.
